Wallace Bachman is an executive coach with over twenty years of organizational and leadership development experience in the technology, financial services, health care, and non-profit sectors.

Bachman began his career with Hay McBer while still a doctoral candidate in Psychology and Social Relations at Harvard University. There he learned competency modeling, assessment, and development. He left Hay McBer to join Digital Equipment Corporation (since acquired by HP), where he led the design and delivery of competency-based management training programs.

When Digital re-organized, he left to form his own leadership development practice in Boston. Most of his work was to provide assessment, selection, and development resources for clients in the technology and financial services sectors. Scudder Investments outsourced their leadership development function to him, giving him responsibility for working with senior leadership to create 360-degree assessment and development processes for all managers in their mutual funds businesses. He also developed competency-based assessment and development tools for Accenture's Strategy Practice partners.

In 2001, Bachman moved to New York City to lead a large, multi-year, outsourced learning and development engagement for the North American operations of a European-based manufacturer of imaging equipment for the health care, printing, and consumer products sectors. It was about this time that he began his own training as a coach with the Newfield Network. He has worked with senior executives in corporate and non-profit foundation environments.
